The land of contrasts between animal lovers and game hunters
The land itself is pretty rural and there are very few people living there. Soils are rich in different minerals while mountains and forests are over rich in its habitats. Nature and animals in its variety are the major attractions in the state. This is a pure fairy tail for animal lovers. Your eye can catch deer family countless number of times while driving in the forests or just being in more urbanized areas. Along with a live animal zoo, there is a big amount of deer dead bodies laying down along the major roads. For the first time visitors of the state it might seem unusual to see so many dead animals and right away it seems appropriate to watch the speed limit, which is pretty high for such animal friendly areas.
Black hills national forest is a majestic place with an amount of animals you probably haven't seen for your entire life. You will be able to see deer and buffaloes, prairie dogs (the cutest little doggies I could only imagine). They seem to me to be hard workers. They love to sing standing on their two pawns all day long till sunset. I couldn't stop watching them.
